Facilities: Starting points include Ramrock Springs, Scales Corral, Cyrus Horse Camp, Grey Butte, and Henderson Flats.

Water Sources: Cyrus Horse Camp may have stock water at times but due to cattle grazing operations and other factors it may not be on. There are various stock tanks out on the trails.

Trail Info: This trail system includes extensive trails in the Crooked River National Grasslands, managed by USDA FS. The trails are not all well flagged, although some are! This is rangeland – there may be gates to open and close behind you to keep the cattle on their pastures. Water is limited. Barbed wire is possible on the trails. There is a huge range of terrain as you cover ground out here – rocks, down trees, gravel, and more!

Trail Challenges: Steep trail, steep side cliffs, cliffs, bikes, hard to navigate trail, rocky terrain, highway crossing, no shade/sun exposed, poor signage.

Permits: None but be aware that the central point of the GPX tracks is a private property site that is used by endurance camp; this is NOT the spot to park your rig.

Backcountry Sites: Not suitable for backcountry camping.

Cell Service: Verizon – good cell service for most of the loops, but some dead spots.

Fuel: Love’s Travel Stop – 1678 US-97, Madras, OR 97741
