Fourmile Lake Campground sits in Southern Oregon less than an hour from Medford, Oregon in the Fremont-Winema National Forest. This camp offers access to Sky Lakes Wilderness from the southern end as well as access to the Pacific Crest Trail. Enjoy riding to alpine lakes and views of Mount McLoughlin from your campsite.
Camp Overview
Campsites: 9 horse sites, 4 with corrals.
Fees: $50/night. 50% off with Interagency Access Pass or Senior Passes. Additional vehicles $10 per night. Day use $10/day, no other passes honored for day use.
Permits: Self-issued wilderness permit.
Popularity: Rarely used.
Elevation: 5,761 feet
Season: July 1 – September 5
Cell Service: Verizon – slow but useable.
Getting There
Directions: From Klamath Falls, OR: Fourmile Lake Campground is located one hour northwest of Klamath Falls, Oregon. From Klamath Falls, OR take Oregon Highway 140 west toward Medford, Oregon, for approximately 33 miles and then turn right onto Forest Service (FS) Road 3661. Fourmile Lake Campground is located at the end of FS Road 3661, next to the Fourmile Lake Day Use Area.
From Medford, OR: Fourmile Lake Trailhead is located one hour and 10 minutes east of Medford, Oregon. From Medford, OR take Oregon Highway 140 east towards Klamath Falls, Oregon, for approximately 43 miles and turn left onto Forest Service (FS) Road 3661. Fourmile Lake Trailhead is located at the end of FS Road 3661, next to the Fourmile Lake Campground.

Road Conditions: Gravel, minimal potholes. Follow specific directions and do NOT take Forest Road 3650 unless you enjoy offroading your trailer.
Gas Station: Closest Fuel is in Medford area – plan accordingly.

Stock Containment: Corrals in 4 sites, otherwise highline or portable corrals.
Stock Water: Yes, hand pump in the non-equestrian camp loop.
Potable Water: No.
Manure Bin: No – disperse or pack it out.
Trash/Dumpster: No – pack it out.
Bathroom: Yes – vault toilet.
Day Use Parking: Day use $10/day, no other passes honored for day use.
Specific Rules: Please do not allow your horse into Chrissie Springs as this is the only water source for hikers for miles.
