The Two Color Guard Station is located along the Wild & Scenic Eagle Creek within the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest in Eastern Oregon. This cabin is horse friendly with corrals and provides access to the Eagle Cap Wilderness via the Main Eagle Trail. Enjoy high elevation alpine terrain with rocky granite landscapes and pristine lakes.

Getting There

Directions:
From Baker City, Oregon head north on Interstate 84 for 5 miles to exit 298; turn right off interstate to State 203 Highway and travel 18 miles to Big Creek Road at Medical Springs; In Medical Springs turn right on Big Creek Road and go 1.5 miles to Forest Road 67 and turn left; Travel on Forest Road 67 for about 14 miles to Foerst Road 77; Turn left on Forest Road 77 for 0.5 miles and then turn right onto Forest Road 7755 to go up Eagle Creek; Travel about 1.5 miles on Forest Road 7755; The entrance to the cabin is on your right.

From La Grande, Oregon go approximately 25 miles southeast on Oregon State 203 to Medical Springs; In Medical Springs turn left on Big Creek Road and go 1.5 miles to Forest Road 67 and turn left; Travel on Forest Road 67 for about 14 miles to Forest Road 77; Turn left on Forest Road 77 for 1.5 miles and then turn right onto Forest Road 7755 to go up Eagle Creek; Travel about 0.5 miles on Forest Road 7755; The entrance to the cabin is on your right.

Cabin Specifics:

Heat: Yes – propane.
Furnishings: Beds to sleep up to 12, couches, chairs, table.
Kitchen: Propane stove, oven, fridge, most cookware and utensils.
Water: Currently none. Must bring your own water for cooking, drinking and cleaning. Consider filtering from creek for human use or bring your own.
Trash: Guests need to bring garbage bags for packing out trash, and the cabin must be cleaned before leaving.

Bedding, towels, dish soap and emergency items like flashlights and first aid kits are not provided.

Rules:

Please call the La Grande Ranger District at (541) 962-8500, or the Whitman Ranger District at (541) 523-1332 or (541) 523-1383 at least one week prior to your arrival at the cabin to confirm the combination. The Ranger Districts are open Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
No smoking or open flames inside the cabin.
Pets are welcome but must remain outside. Please clean up after your pet.
Additional use of RVs, tents and trailers must be within the capacity of the cabin and site usage; guest camping at the site is not allowed.
There is no trash collection. All food and garbage must be packed out.
Guests need to bring garbage bags for packing out trash, and the cabin must be cleaned before leaving.
