Mount St. Helens • Mount Adams • Gifford Pinchot National Forest
The Southern Washington Cascades are shaped by volcanoes, fire history, and wide forested expanses. Riding here ranges from lush river valleys to exposed volcanic terrain, with longer approaches, quieter trailheads, and a more remote feel than Cascade routes farther north.
Seasonality is a major factor. Snowpack, fire closures, and road access can dramatically affect what’s rideable from year to year, making this a region best approached with flexibility and planning.
