Horse-friendly backcountry camps sites, and wilderness stock access points.
This page is a reference list of notable stock sites — places in the backcountry where you can camp with horses or other stock animals, often with established hitching, appropriate highline trees, or unique access conditions. Backcountry stock sites are different from standard campgrounds: they are chosen for access from trail, water proximity, and stock-friendly features.
This is a growing catalog of backcountry stock sites — including national park stock use areas, wilderness corrals, and designated stock camps with historical or practical significance for equestrian trips. These sites support riders planning overnight or multi-day trips on horses or pack animals.

This page complements the Trail Catalog and Camp Catalog but focuses specifically on stock-accessible wilderness sites.

What’s Not Here (Yet)
This page does not list every backcountry stock site. Many exist across Oregon and Washington National Forests, BLM lands, and state recreation areas. We’ll continue to expand this page as riders contribute new sites and updated information.
If you have personal experience riding to or camping at backcountry stock sites, consider submitting a listing or update. Your firsthand knowledge helps other riders plan better and keeps stock access visible.
