Anderson Lake State Park is located on the western side of the Olympic Pennisula, just south of Port Townsend. This state park provides almost 5 miles of easy trails for day use. There is currently a project connecting Anderson Lake trails to the Olympic Discovery Trail and Larry Scott Trail for future access to even more miles of trails.

Facilities: No overnight camping. Large grass parking lot for trailers with tie rails, picnic tables and bathroom.
Water Sources: None. The lake may be closed at times due to recurring toxic algae issues. Check the Jefferson County Public Health lake status page for lake conditions and status reports. Two dogs have died from the tooxic algae so while dogs are technically allowed – don’t bring them.
Trail Info: Anderson Trail 1.32 miles, Olympic Trail 1.14 miles, San Juan Trail 0.88 miles, Savage Memorial Trail 0.72 miles, Tamanowas Trail 0.57 miles, Grand Fir Trail 0.26 miles. Please note that the Lakeside Trail, Cascade Trail and Quimper Trail are closed to horses. Consult Park Map linked below and GPX track for example loop.
Trail Challenges: Bikes allowed on trails. Leashed dogs allowed. Muddy in winter.
Permits: Discover Pass required.
Backcountry Sites: Not suitable for backcountry/overnight use.
Cell Service: Spotty throughout park depending on carrier.

Directions: From Port Townsend head west on SR 20 for 6.7 miles then turn onto Anderson Lake Road. The park entrance is 1.0 miles on the left.
From the Hood Canal Bridge, follow WA 104 to Discovery Bay, turn right on to SR 20. In 3.7 miles turn right onto Anderson Lake Road. The park entrance is 1.0 miles on the left.
Park Specific Rules: Gate closed Nov 1 – March 31 but riding still allowed.
